Ritz-Carlton to open 46 new hotels by 2020
According to a Top Hotel News report, The Ritz-Carlton Hotels is planning 46 new hotel projects around the world between 2017-2020, which will add nearly 10,000 new rooms to the luxury hotel’s portfolio. The openings will also likely create numerous job opportunities in a wide variety of markets and cities across the globe where the new developments will be located.
Over half of the Ritz-Carlton’s new hotel projects are slated for the Asia Pacific market; 6 are planned for various locations across North America; the Middle East and Africa will also see 6 new developments each; and 2 new hotels are planned for the European market.
21 of the new developments are slated to open this year, while 9 are planned to open in 2018. The rest should be completed before 2020.
The hotel also continues to strengthen its well-known influence into the spa industry, with plans to add spa options to both their new and existing properties. As Hcareers reported in February, hotel and resort spas are the fastest growing sectors of the spa industry with over 540,000 new hotel spa jobs expected in North America alone by 2020.
The Ritz-Carlton is owned by Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel company with over 6,000 properties in 122 countries around the world. The Ritz-Carlton currently has 91 hotels worldwide across 30 countries and employs an estimated 40,000 people.
