College jobs and university jobs are ideal for students who want to work while enrolled in courses or over the summer break. Whether you are a student or a local resident, you will find many college and university jobs at Hcareers.

Hcareers is a leading job board for university and college jobs. Educational institutions across the nation post positions frequently. Available college jobs include those in food service as well as college restaurant and cafeteria positions. Professionals who enjoy working outdoors should search for college jobs in grounds and maintenance. Those who wish to protect university property and students may enjoy positions within campus security. Many of these university job openings require little more than a high school diploma, though facilities management college jobs may require an associate or bachelor's degree.

University jobs within campus restaurants and cafeterias fall under the Bureau of Labor Statistics category ?Food Services and Drinking Places.? According to the BLS, these jobs at colleges provide many young people with employment, including college students. On average, two out of five food service employees work part time. Hours typically include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Job opportunities in campus food service are plentiful as students move on to careers within their chosen fields after graduating from college.

College jobs in facilities management may require an associate or bachelor's degree in business or management. A few may accept professionals with high school diplomas alone. Those seeking senior positions may benefit from additional technical training and experience in the field. Facility managers monitor campus facilities to maintain their safety, security and condition. They may be responsible for directing maintenance, grounds and custodial staff. The BLS expects job opportunities in facilities maintenance to increase by 12 percent by 2018.

Grounds maintenance university jobs usually require nothing more than a high school diploma ? and some less than that. Most grounds maintenance workers are trained on the job in a matter of weeks. They may learn about maintenance and planting as well as how to operate mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers and other grounds keeping equipment. These positions may be full time, though most are part time and often seasonal. Employment of grounds maintenance workers is expected to increase 18 percent by 2018.

College jobs in Campus security are another viable employment option for college students and local residents. Little formal training is required and the hours are usually flexible. Campus security guards may monitor dormitories and university facilities as well as patrol the property to protect against vandalism and other illegal activities. Many states require the licensing of security guards. This generally requires a background check, drug testing, and classroom training on emergency procedures and the detention of suspected criminals. The BLS expects the employment of security guards to increase 14 percent by 2018.
