North Vancouver, BC - Jul 02, 2002:
California is the most popular place to work among hospitality job seekers
1, according to a recent survey by Hcareers, the dominant job board for the hospitality industry.
California topped the table with 16% of people looking for work in this area. This was closely followed by Florida (14%) and Ontario (11%). New York and Texas achieved the same ranking with 7% of job seekers investigating opportunities in each respective state. Feedback suggests that the good weather and laid-back lifestyle were key attractions for those seeking hospitality employment opportunities.
Hcareers achieves five times more hospitality-specific visits than Monster.com. Job seekers can search thousands of hospitality openings across the country, by state, metro area or position category. More than 7,000 current openings have been posted in the last 45 days alone. With 2.2 million visits per month, Hcareers also enables employers to cost-effectively reach hospitality-specific job seekers.
"Hcareers helps job seekers to find work where they want it. It gives them the ability to search for jobs within a particular area, so they don't have to sift through pages of newspaper classified ads to find what they're looking for," said David Curry, president & CEO of Hcareers. "The results also show that the New York hospitality industry is still recovering following the events of 9/11. It will be interesting to see how this changes moving forward."
