Job Description

Department: Finance

Responsibilities include:
* Ensure that Sales and Use Taxes are correctly and
accurately assessed and remitted
* Provide recommendations for all items subject to Sales
and Use Tax based on research, industry trends and
changing tax laws.
* Perform research using CCH, internet and other
research tools and prepare memorandum summarizing
research
* Assist with Sales and Use Tax audits
* Evaluate Sales and Use Tax compliance processes to
identify opportunities for improvement
* Serve as knowledge resource for Sales and Use Tax
questions from corporate office and hotels
* Provide Sales and Use Tax training to purchasing and
accounts payable personnel
* Review historical Sales and Use Tax payments and
identify opportunities for refunds and claims
* Perform account reconciliations to ensure that
balances are consistent with returns filed and payments
made
* Business license compliance, which may include
acquiring tax identification numbers for new entities
* Filing consolidated operational (sales and use,
beverage, occupancy, etc.) tax returns, as required
* Additional responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree ? preference for Accounting or Finance
degree
* Minimum of 7-10 years of Sales and Use Tax experience
* Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, CCH or RIA tax
research software, Oracle or other general ledger
software system, and Sales and Use tax compliance
software (Vertex, or similar).
* Good team player but also able to work independently
with minimum supervision
* Good analytical abilities
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
* Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle
multiple priorities
