Job Description
The Milford NYC is undergoing one of New York City?s
most amazing transformations. Upon completion this
Spring, the $140 million renovation of this iconic hotel
will offer newly designed guest rooms, a totally
renovated lobby, the hippest lounge and newest rooftop
bar in Manhattan. The hotel is designed for guests to
enjoy the AUTHENTIC New York experience throughout their
entire stay. Our 1,331 guest rooms feature a light,
bright and airy design with clean and elegant
furnishings. The room colors are inspired by the VIBRANT
colors of the NYC subway lines and accented with wall
graphics paying homage to our Times Square location.
Guests can walk through our corridors and feel as if
they are in 5-different Manhattan neighborhoods with our
life size murals. Our 25,000 square feet of retail space
will include exclusive high end shops and a variety
NYC?s best food offerings. The 5,000 square foot roof
top bar will cater to the fashionista in everyone with
indoor and outdoor space, views from tip to tip of
Manhattan at the top of the world?s largest lifestyle
hotel.

The Transient Sales Manager is responsible for
soliciting and managing transient business from
designated channels, securing new business and
maintaining existing accounts. These sales channels
include but are not limited to corporate negotiated,
retail, TMC and consortia. The ideal candidate for this
position is a sales professional who desires to be best
in class, display exceptionally account relationships
and proven leader in revenue production.

Essential Functions:

* Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed
revenue goals. This will consist of telephone
communication, outside sales calls, site inspections
and written communication.

* Review Hotelligence and Business Intelligence
reports daily to identify opportunities.

* Have keen knowledge of business channels, corporate
travel buying process and corporate & travel agency
customer relationships required.

* Conduct site inspections of the hotel and facilities
and incorporate other departments whenever possible.

* Prepare correspondence to customers, internal
booking reports and file maintenance.

* Participation in strategy meetings, training and
other sales related meetings as required.

* Attend trade shows, community events and industry
meetings.

* Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends,
competition and customers.

* Work with other departments within the hotel to
provide quality service to customers.

* Help approve negotiated rates, RFP?s and business
travel contracts.

* Communicates effectively and genuinely with guests,
team members and other departments.

* Maintains a friendly and caring demeanor at all
times.

* Shows initiative and anticipates needs in job
performance.

* Professionally deal with situations and people,
having conflict solution skills.

* Maintains a professional stylish image at all times
within the company appearance standards.

* Have knowledge of and assist in all emergency
procedures as required.

* Keep hotel informed of top account production at
sales meetings.

* Develops and maintains relationships with key
clients in order to produce repeat business.

* Follows company policies and procedures.

* Cross sell sister Highgate properties.

* Any and all other duties deemed necessary by a
member of management.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

* Strong Oral and written communication skills

* Able to travel

* Attention to detail

* Able to multi-task

* Able to work flexible, sometimes long hours

* Able to exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and
10 lbs of force frequently.

* Leadership Skills

* Computer Skills ? Word, Excel, Delphi, Opera a plus

Required Qualifications:

* Minimum of two years? experience in sales/catering in
a management position or equivalent.

* Special consideration will be given to those who
exhibit exemplary performance.

* Experience with independent hotel or
lifestyle/boutique property is preferred.

* Strong understanding of the NYC market.

* Candidate should be well versed in business travel
sales with sound customer base/segmentation knowledge
associated.

* Education/Experience: College Degree or equivalent.
