Job Description

Position Summary:
Serve food and beverage items per guest requests according to established service standards and to satisfy the guest.
Job Requirements

Maintains a positive attitude at all times, supporting the policies of Senior Management of the Casino as well as Senior Management of Ameristar Casino, Inc.
*
Adhere to established department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
*
This is a uniformed position, which requires that team member’s are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty.
*
Assures all tables are clean and properly set.
*
Set up serving stations according to checklist.
*
Answer questions regarding food preparation and make menu suggestions.
*
Observe diners to respond to any additional requests.
*
Ability, when necessary, to use P.O.S. System.
*
Follows departmental and position standards and procedures.
*
Abides by all Ameristar Casino Hotel policies and procedures.
*
Communicates opportunities and suggestions to Supervisor/Manager.
*
All other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills
*
Must have excellent guest service skills
*
Able to operate a P.O.S. System and/or adding machine and make change
*
Must have basic math skills
*
TIPS training
*
Must be very friendly and outgoing.
Required Natural Behaviors
*
Must be able to stand for a minimum eight (8) hour shift.
*
Locations on casino floor are noisy and smoky.
*
Will also encounter intoxicated guests frequently.
*
Provide representation of department in specific project and company meetings.
Required Education and Work Experience
*
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
*
Prefer experience in a food serving establishment.
