JOB OVERVIEW
To increase hotel revenue by assisting in the development and implementation of solicitation programs in line with the hotel financial objectives and targets. The Sales Manager generates business from the market segments in assigned personal territory.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Establish and maintain active working partnerships with the sales & reservations departments of key Travel Partners.

· Initiate and implement sales promotional programs with travel partners

· Broaden productive client base and increase awareness of hotel.

· Conduct personalized sales campaigns within designated territory to promote the hotels, programs, packages and special promotions.

· Coordinate and participate in trade shows / seminars aimed at hotel target markets.

· Maximize exposure through creative promotion both during and pre /post event.

· Aggressively solicit and follow up on leads generated.

· Actively participate in key trade & business associations to generate business leads and increase hotel visibility.

· Preparation and presentation of business proposals, which meet clients' needs and expectations and provide alternatives.

· Follow up on group business (pending, tentative and booked) to ensure client satisfaction and materialization at hotel.

· Keep abreast of market trends, competitor's activities and guest/client feedback.

· Respond to all correspondence to clients.

· Make sales calls.

· Make sales presentations

· Manage key accounts.

· Attend, participate and/or lead pre-convention meetings

· Greet guests during events.

· Monitor office administrative support personnel.

· Train others in the Sales Call Process.

· Understand room types, rate and codes.

· Make room reservations.

· Conduct site visits.

· Attend trade shows.

· Entertain clients.

· Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.

· Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.  Use equipment only as intended.

· Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

· Greet guests during events.

· Maintain positive guest relations at all times.

· Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.

· Access all functions of computer

· Answer telephone.

· Make telephone calls to specified individuals as requested by the Director of Sales and Market.

· Prepare correspondence, memos, proposals, contracts and reports.

· Document all guest requests/complaints and communicate such to respective personnel for proper handling.  Follow up on guest satisfaction.

· Maintain confidentiality and security of specified hotel information, correspondence, reports and files.
