Job Description

Position: Banquet Supervisor
Purpose: The main objective of the Banquet Supervisor is
to supervise the floor, make sure food is presented
neatly, served on time and that all functions are
coordinated properly. The Banquet Supervisor must also
assist in the operation and management of the
Department; to disseminate information on event orders,
to service and set-up personnel insuring accurate,
timely functions as well as professional and courteous
service. Also responsible for upselling and attaining
pre-determined labor goals, and supervision of all Food
& Beverage related events.

Essential Functions:

¨ Responsible for controlling all aspects in the
execution of banquet function.

¨ Effectively supervise the Banquet staff during all
food and beverage service.

¨ Coordinating every aspect of the Banquet staff during
all food and beverage service.

¨ Assist the Manager in the complete operation of the
Department to include schedules, event orders, resumes,
banquet tickets, daily spreadsheets.

¨ Supervisors should be able to open and close
day-to-day operation.

¨ Assist in Banquet Employee reviews and attendance
history.

¨ Supervision of Banquet Servers and housepersons in
service, room set-ups, clean up and payroll
administration.

¨ Comply with staffing guides and punch detail reports.

¨ Assist in keeping necessary inventories on equipment,
food and beverage items.

¨ Provide Banquet Management with day-to-day reports on
groups and employees.

¨ Being able to complete and understand all paperwork;
Ace Forms, cash bar procedures, safety check list
report, ect.

¨ Responsible for adhering to hotel policies and
procedures.

¨ Responsible for adhering to all liquor liability laws.

¨ Must assist/conduct all designated staff/pre-function
meetings.


Tools and Equipment:

¨ Telephone, pager, two-way radio, calculator, service
machines, computer, coffee maker/urn, toaster,
microwave, beverage machines, bus trays, dishware,
silverware, glassware, queen-mary cart.

Working Environment:

¨ Subject to long periods of standing and walking in
outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work
environment is usually moderate. Close quarters in some
work areas.

¨ Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning
chemicals.

¨ Exposure to food items and beverages.

Job Requirements

Organized, computer skills, Microsoft Excel/Word, 3
years-supervisor experience, Banquet Supervisor
experience-1 year minimum
