Job Description
Maintains cleanliness in a public areas of the Casino, guest and team member restrooms and team member restaurant as well as responds to guest requests while working on the Casino floor. Works closely with the EVS Manager and/or EVS Supervisor on duty. Follows the basic quality and cleanliness standards for Ameristar Casino and Hotel. Cleans ash urns and brass. Vacuums carpeted areas, dusts furniture and equipment and polishes furniture and bright areas including marble brass, brass floor plates, entrance door brass and kick door brass plates. Cleans restrooms, mirrors, sinks, counter tops, cigarette urns and toilets. Empties trash bins and picks up loose papers from floors, sinks and counter tops as well as sweep and mop floors. Replaces toilet tissue and refills paper towel dispensers. Familiarizes self with the proper use of all cleaning equipment and chemicals. Performs laundry/linen receipt and distribution duties in accordance with established policies and procedures. Cleans all escalator and elevator brass, lighting, walls and carpeting. Cleans and dusts all Casino lighting and lampshades. Follows established procedures for performing the aforementioned functions in a restricted area by utilizing a required security escort.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience cleaning public areas preferred. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and carry objects up to 10 lbs. Ability to frequently bend, push items, twist, kneel, stoop and reach overhead to objects. Ability to stand 10% of shift, walk 90% of shift. Ability to work within a smoke-filled environment. Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Must be able to abide by the company appearance standards and compliance with the designated uniform. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Gaming Commission Level 3 Gaming License.
