Position: Shampooer / Floor Care Attendant

Position Summary:

Coordinates and executes the cleaning of offices, rooms, and public areas to standard. Works with various departments, especially Engineering. Responsible for completing special projects that maintain and create a product that exceeds guest expectations. Extensive use of cleaning equipment such as carpet, floor polishing, pressure washing machines etc…. Ensures adherence to Loews Hotels Star Service standards.
« Handles assignments in a timely manner and follows up with leadership team.
« Follows and ensures compliance to all hotel key control procedures by staff
« Follows and ensures compliance with lost and found procedures
« Conducts regular inspections of Housekeeping items including specific chemicals, and cleaning equipment and reports back any deficiencies.
« Prepares work orders for repair, renovation or replacement with Director approval
« Coordinates restocking of storage areas
« Maintains proper condition of inventories
« Handles complaints in accordance with Loews Hotels “Handle Guest Complaint” standards, ensuring guest satisfaction
« Provides employees an outstanding model of professional conduct, high morale, and guest service.
« Consistently demonstrates excellent guest service skills.
« Interacts daily in a positive manner with guests and staff.
« Maintains a positive & constructive workplace that values diversity & uncompromising standards of excellence
« Performs multiple activities to meet time critical deadlines
« Able to operate floor and carpet care equipment
« Knowledgeable of Loews Hotels training guidelines and procedures
« Ensures compliance with established cleaning procedures
« Reports needed office and public area repairs immediately to Engineering department
« Examines carpets, drapes, & furniture for stains, damage, & wear – reports needs to appropriate Manager, informs Director of redecorating needs
« Prepares Engineering work orders as needed
« Comply with OSHA regulations & ensure hotel life safety
« Participates in daily/weekly/monthly department meetings and training sessions
« Answers Housekeeping phones according to Loews Hotels standards
« Other duties as assigned which may include cleaning of guest rooms as a Guest Room Attendant. Performing duties of a Houseman or any task needed in the administration of housekeeping services as directed by the Director of Housekeeping

? Recycles whenever possible
? Remains current with hotel information and changes
? Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards

Required Skills and Experience:

« Dedicated professional working at the highest standards of quality service and staff development.
« Minimum two years Housekeeping or related experience with cleaning equipment.
« Outstanding communication skills – oral and written.
« Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
? Ability to stand, stoop, bend, walk during entire shift and to lift and/or move up to 150 lbs.
? Good visual acuity.
? Must be a self-starter and have good organizational skills.
? Knowledge of and ability to use Resilient Floor cleaning/polishing and carpet shampoo equipment.
? Knowledge of and ability to use Pressure washers, Street sweepers, Scrubber machines.
? Requires extensive standing, walking, lifting and bending.
« Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Preferred Skills and Abilities
« Able to communicate well in conversational English.
