Job Description
|
DUTIES:
Willingness to accept the most effective role.
Responsible for the strategic planning and development of the department.
Responsible for the daily operation of all retail areas including gift shops, arcade, MagiQuest, Miniature golf, Animal Land, gift packages, airbrush tattoos, lockers, leases, vending, and any other revenue producing venues.
Responsible for monitoring ordering functions, approving purchase orders, tracking invoices
and monitoring all inventory functions including Micros reports and Dataworks reports on a
weekly basis.
Oversees all merchandising functions including store display and design, inventory,
tracking/analyzing, merchandise purchasing, par levels and pricing, merchandise/materials
sourcing.
Develops and manages labor, COS, and expense budgets. Responsible for monthly
Budcasts for the department.
Negotiates contracts with lessees.
Manages staff including hiring, evaluations, employee-training programs, scheduling and
employee relations.
Oversees sales functions including POS system, cash handling, budgets and daily reporting.
Oversee Market Metrix scores to deliver excellent guest service.
Assures retail areas achieve the highest standards in areas of cleanliness, presentation and service.
Develops, implements, and monitors programs assuring a safe facility and work environment
that is in compliance with all appropriate regulations—Ergonomics, Emergency Responses,
Injury and Illness Prevention, and Hazard Communications Programs. |

POSITION: Director of Retail Services
REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager and Corporate Retail Director
JOB PURPOSE: To maintain organizational operations of Retail Services Department.
JOB SUMMARY: Manages staff; achieves operational objectives; prepares budget and controls
expenses; controls costs; maximizes retail profitability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Charismatic leader who adjusts leadership style to motivate diverse groups to achieve
extraordinary goals and overcomes challenges. Inspires and motivates team members to work
together and achieve success beyond expectations.
Successfully manages people to achieve performance goals. Excellent people management skills including resolving conflict, coaching and developing others, promoting teamwork, and
performance.
Four-year college degree or extensive experience in related fields.
Extensive experience in Retail Sales in theme park or resort management required.
Prior multiple- location management experience.
Ability to work in a team environment with professional demeanor
Ability to read and write English, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
procedure manuals;
Strong Communication Skills: must be able to communicate effectively with guests and
fellow associates.
Basic math skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Must be flexible regarding scheduling as it is based on business demands
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to lift up to 10 pounds and able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. |
