The Hotel General Manager is the key individual in the organization's chain of command with complete responsibility for all activities at his/her hotel. The General Manager takes charge of all components of his/her property's business, serving as a positive role model for all associates while representing the owner's fiduciary interests. Specific key responsibilities are:

1. Generate maximum financial and operational performance within the framework of the Division Mission Statement, specific direction and established policies and procedures.

2. Create and champion the Hotel's Business plan and specific Mission Statement.

3. Develop and nurture a team of Management and Line Staff members that are committed to the achievement of the hotel's goals and priorities. Fully implement and utilize the integrated goal planning and performance appraisal processes.

4. Lead the hotel in an entrepreneurial fashion. Focus on opportunities to build and expand our business volume. Lead the sales and revenue building efforts.

5. Maintain and support the organization's professional image and high ethics. Represent the hotel in the local and professional communities.

6. Must have Marriott brand experience, extended stay general manager experience preferred.

The following are basic requirements for this position:

1. Strong interpersonal/leadership skills, professional, caring behavior toward both guests and team members. A positive reference from superiors, peers and subordinates.

2. Proven success in marketing and room sales

3. Dedicated to lead staff to the top 10% of TownePlace Suites brand

4. "Guest first" service approach. Demonstrated guest service success.

5. "Hands on and do it now" approach. Entrepreneurial style that reflects a true sense of pride and ownership. Demonstrated success in achieving revenue growth and the implementation of yield management and business plans.

6. 2 - 5 years of experience as a General Manager of a like size hotel

7. Familiarity and ability to utilize technology as it relates to hotel operations and communications.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration from an accredited college.

2. Marriott brand experience a must, extended stay general manager experience preferred but not required.

3. Specific technical expertise in common hotel technology systems and business software use.
