JOB SUMMARY: The server's primary responsibility is to serve food and beverages to guests. This position also ensures that all guests are welcomed in a timely, friendly, as well as professional manner in accordance with hotel standards. At the same time they should also ensure that all service standards of food and beverage quality, presentation and sanitation are followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
Checks assigned station, prior to opening, for cleanliness of work area and proper setting of tables.

Greets guest at tables within one minute of guest being seated.

Serves guests' order promptly and according to established standards, policies and procedures.

Knows daily buffets, specials, soups, drinks and "86" items, and communicates them to the guest.

Stocks and maintains side stations with the necessary equipment.

Knows all menu items and buffet items, their garnishes, contents and preparation methods; relays that information to the guest in a direct, concise way.

Busses tables according to standard procedures.
Upsells and makes suggestions from specials, beverages and menu items.

Effectively and efficiently operates the MICROS machine.

Practices safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others.

Upon guest's departure, closes guest checks by credit cards, cash, group or room charges, according to established standards, policies and procedures.

Makes correct deposits, balances bank and follows
end of shift drop procedures.


Reports gratuities in accordance with company guidelines and federal law.

Maintains responsible alcohol service certification.


















Education & Experience:

1. Must have good understanding of the English language.
2. Good verbal and written communication skills.
3. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
4. Compute basic arithmetic.
5. CARE or TIPS certified

Desirable:

1. High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
2. Previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
3. Certification in an alcohol awareness program.
