JOB DESCRIPTION

Since the 1980's, when Morgans Hotel Group opened Morgans (pioneering the revolutionary boutique hotel concept), the company has continued developing properties with cutting-edge style and unparalleled service standards.  MHG is a brand comprised of unique, independent hotels that are indigenous to their locality.  Powered by design and an ambition to maintain the company's market position as the leader in the boutique hotel segment, the portfolio is currently comprised of 10 Hotels (over 2,700 rooms) located in New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Scottsdale, and London. 

 

Scope

The position is accountable for assisting the Miami sales/revenue team in various tasks which would involve group management, transient reservations, producing reports, and revenue management processes.

Primary Responsibilities

The Reservations coordinator is responsible for:

 
* Input and manage group room blocks
* Manage cut-off for groups attend pick-up meetings
* Receive, make, and respond to transient reservations from various segments
* Creating and update rate codes for various segments
* Assisting the region's Revenue Management Team to prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reports
* Liaison between wholesale partners and hotels
* Updating MARS across all three hotels
* Assisting the region's Revenue Team to prepare for the weekly Revenue Team and Group Pipeline Meetings
* And any other additional responsibilities given

 

 

Primary Goals
* Manage and create seamless processes with all primary responsibilities
* Maintaining  integrity and consistency across all platforms in the sales and revenue department
* Acting in accordance with the tenants of Edge (MHG's Service Quality Program)

 

 

Education:               B.S./B.A.

 

Experience:             One to two years experience in the Hotel Industry

 

Other:                     Needs to be highly organized and structured, must possess time management skills, must have great attention to detail, must be able to work in a team, and have excellent writing/presentation skills.  Reservations experience is a plus, hotel experience is a plus, sales experience is a plus.  Incumbent must also be proficient in the use of a hotel specific Property Management Systems, epitome preferred.  Proficiency in Word and Excel is required.
