Assistant Manager, Banquets

The Banquet Assistant Manager is required to have a proven background in Banquets, hand service preferred, with demonstrated ability proven in Guest Service, Financial Returns and Employee Engagement. He/she must have the ability to motivate and lead a vibrant and diverse team with a keen eye for detail. Motivating and leading the colleagues in providing the best Banquet experience in Pittsburgh, while cultivating relationships with clients and exceeding their expectations is the expectation.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Banquet Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
? Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
? Active floor presence with hands on management of functions and colleagues
? Lead and manage the Banquet department, ensuring all service standards are followed
? Focuses on Meeting Planner Satisfaction Scores in all duties and interactions
? Monitor all functions to ensure it maintains a first class and positive visual impact; including ambiance, décor and service delivery
? Coach and train the Banquet team in all aspects of the department
? Ensure accurate billing for each event is recorded
? Respond to guest concerns and react quickly and professionally
? Monitor all Banquet facilities for cleanliness, repair and maintenance, reporting any deficiencies as required
? Attend pre-conference meetings with clients to confirm all relevant details are communicated
? Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
? Attend regularly scheduled departmental meetings
? Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
? Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
? Other duties as assigned 
? Previous experience is an asset
? Minimum 2 years progressive Food and Beverage Management experience, preferably in Banquets at a luxury property
? College Degree an asset
? Computer knowledge, particularly POS (MICROS) and Microsoft Office an asset
? Hands on management style with ability to prioritize and lead through example
? Strong organizational skills
? Excellent interpersonal skills, with great communication ability
