Job Purpose
There are now three types of Best Western Hotels, and if you have stayed with us recently, you know that we are focused on the Design Excellence of our hotels. We are currently seeking a dynamic hospitality design professional to work as a Regional Design Consultant with Best Western hotels and new applicant properties in the states of Texas, Louisianna, and Oklahoma. The successful candidate will promote compliance with Best Western design guidelines and standards, completing and working on required property improvement plans with property owners. You are client focused and possess a wide variety of professional design experience. You also present evidence of practical design application as you will make relevant design recommendations per the report findings.


Essential Job Results
Provides design consultation, guidance and approvals to member hotels and applicants. Utilizes various reports, photos and documentation to assess properties design compliance. Provides guidance and assists hotels as they correct design deficiencies in compliance with design guidelines; monitors reports to ensure design objectives are met. Makes recommendations to property owners on design related matters, maintaining quality service by following Company standards. Resolves defined problems and identifies obscured issues; Uses a wide degree of creativity and latitude to analyze and resolve problems.


Skills/Requirements
Minimum 5 years related experience in architecture and or interior design for commercial, industrial or institutional facilities. Hotel industry experience preferred. Bachelor?s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong skills in computer systems and software including Microsoft Office Suite. Experienced in reading construction documents and specifications. Self motivated; able to set priorities and deliver results with limited day to day supervision. Able to diplomatically communicate deficiencies and required changes while maintaining customer relationship. NCIDQ certification preferred. Previous design/architecture project management experience preferred. Please list salary requirements when applying.


Location Details
Candidates will be based in Texas, Louisiana, or Oklahoma and will work from their home office with easy access to a major metropolitan airport. Relocation assistance is not available. This position requires frequent travel of 75% or more.


Pay and Work Schedule
Hiring rate for this position is $60,000 to 70,000 per year, depending on experience.
