POSITION PURPOSE Coordinates on a daily basis Service Express® activities within the hotel. This position will oversee in room dining, bell/luggage attendant and all phone intake operators. Works under the guidance of the FRONT OFFICE Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AVERAGE % OF TIME 15% Assists in staff supervision, ensuring the set-up and delivery of meals, amenities and hospitality orders are prepared and delivered consistent with departmental standards. Ensures that hallways are cleared of tables and trays. 15% Assists with the supervision of luggage delivery and pick-up, ensuring that multiple tasks are performed and departmental standards are followed. 5% Oversees the ordering of supplies. 5% Ensures that the staff performs all side work and additional assigned duties. 5% Is very familiar with all menu items, ingredients and preparation time and ensures that all Service Express® Staff is equally knowledgeable. 5% Is familiar with all hotel services and provides this information to all Service Express® Staff. 5% Monitors work areas for cleanliness and proper working condition of all equipment. 5% Is trained to prepare work schedules. 5% Is trained to maintain accurate records. 10% Performs all related duties as assigned by the Service Express® Assistant Manager and Manager. 5% Responds to solve problems in the absence of Senior Management. 10% Complies with all departmental policies, as well as hotel rules, regulations and policies and ensures that all Service Express® Staff comply with the same rules and regulations. 10% Must be familiar with all Westin Quality Assurance Standards and ensure 100% compliance. Other: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel: oWrite reports as needed. oParticipate in inventory exercises. oEnsure proper grooming of employees. oAnswer inquiries regarding hotel policies and services.
