Job Description

Position Summary:

Assists in establishing company policy relative to the casino operations and oversees the casino floor on a designated shift. Responsible for ensuring Slots, Table Games and Poker operations are properly staffed and operating in accordance with Mississippi Gaming Commission and company policies and procedures. Manages supervisory and front line team and maintains a high-degree of professionalism when dealing with internal and external guests. Is responsible for training and development of Team Members. Adheres to Ameristar’s guest service requirement and motivates and empowers staff to meet departmental objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Oversees Slot, Table Games and Poker departments on assigned shift in adherence to regulatory and company policies and procedures.
* Responsible for protection of company assets as they relate to gaming operations.
* Primary responsibility for guest satisfaction. Excellent at dispute resolution.
* Develops and executes strategies to deliver best in brand guest service results. Actively motivates and manages team to deliver desired results.
* Actively develops team. Ensures all team members receive constructive, specific written feedback on regular basis, including annual performance appraisals. Execute development plans for highly performing and underperforming team members. Excellent administrative and writing skills required.
* Maintain cleanliness standards in casino.
* Be responsible for the proper taxation on taxable jackpots in both table games and slots.
* Adhere to, interpret, support, and explain established company policies and procedures as well as applicable local, state, federal and other regulatory procedures.
* This is a non-uniformed position, which requires the team member be in compliance with non-uniformed appearance standards while on duty
* Must maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential and propriatary information disclosed by an Ameristar entity or by a guest of Ameristar Casinos.
* Address Team Member questions and concerns; conduct internal investigations as needed.
* Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor an effective team member relations program through effective communication.
* Foster and maintain positive team member relations in a supportive environment and interfaces with other departments to ensure a harmonious working relationship.
* Hire, train, coach, assess and review the job performance of subordinates including both non-exempt and exempt team members.
* Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics, and image of self and subordinates.
* Conduct and attends all regular departmental meetings as well as other related meetings.
* Complete necessary reports in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
* Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Education and Work Experience:

* Bachelor’s degree preferred
* Two (2) to three (3) years experience in the casino industry or equivalent leadership experience.

Level of Authority:
The team member advises and recommends decisions regarding hiring, terminating and coaching team members as well as uses independent judgment in interpreting company and department policy.

Reporting Structure:
The Team Member reports to Sr. Casino Operations Manager and Vice President of Casino Operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Team Member directly supervises all team members both exempt and non-exempt in the department of their primary focus and indirectly supervises all personnel in casino operations on their designated shift.
