Job Description

Provides fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to culinary team members and the restaurant service delivery team. Prepares food items as required including, but not limited to, soups, sauces, salads, appetizers and sandwiches, entrees, breakfast items and desserts according to recipe standards. Employs proper cooking methods, cooks to specifications and handles, stores and rotates food properly in accordance with established health and safety standards. Ability to operate kitchen equipment including slicer, steamer, deep fryer, ovens, broiler, grill, mixer, braiser, kettle and flat top. Slice, dice, chop and prepare raw products. Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables and other foods as directed or required. Carve meats, portion food on serving plates, add gravies and sauces, and garnish plates as required. Must strive for picture perfect plate presentation. Actively participates with staff to cook, prepare, dish-up and assemble all outlets' food. Wipes counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station. Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards. Maintains par levels of operating supplies and food product for each workstation obtaining replacement stock from warehouse inventory in accordance with procedure. Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures. Provides clear direction, instruction and guidance to subordinates. Trains lower level cooks in proper equipment use. Knows and promotes current casino events and programs and can give guests directions to all casino areas. 

Job Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience. Two years prior experience as cook in a high volume food service operation. Possess reading and math skills necessary for recipes and measurements. Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques.
Possess and maintain culinary tools (knives) to perform the necessary job functions.
Read, write legibly, understand and speak English. Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Must be able to abide by the company appearance standards and compliance with the designated uniform. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Gaming Commission Identification Badge.
