The Group Sales Manager is responsible for the implementation and delivery of a successful solicitation strategy to all market segments in order to meet and/or exceed revenue goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals.  This will consist of telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication and file maintenance.
  • Direct and manage all group sales activities to maximize revenue potential.
  • Participate in daily meetings, sales strategy meetings, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales related meetings as required.
  • Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
  • Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge of market, competition and customers.
  • Professionally represent the hotel at all industry/community functions.
  • Participate as a team player with all departments.
  • Assist with reports and/or competition data collection.

Required Skills and Requisites

  • Minimum of 2 years hospitality Sales experience in the Florida Association Market

 

  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media; engaging the audience and helping them understand and retain the message. Skilled at establishing effective relationships with customers and internal partners; promoting openness, trust and confidence in one's intentions. Requires effective reading, writing and oral comprehension.
  • Service orientation. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Must possess strong sales and negotiation skills. Proven prospecting and new business development abilities
  • High School Diploma and/or Four year Business/Marketing College Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years hospitality Sales experience preferred. Group Sales experience preferred.
