Job Description
|
Position reports to Myrtle Beach, SC
• Willingness to accept the most effective role.
• Responsible for the promotion of a safe and professional workplace through adhering to the policies and procedures as outlined in the company handbook.
• Position MAGIQUEST as the ultimate family experience, a must visit attraction.
• Develop and implement plans to generate revenue through group sales and package programs.
• Generates group sales business and meets goals through group events by developing various market segments.
• Identify areas of growth opportunity, develop and execute action plans to grow those areas.
• Responsible for booking educational, youth, corporate, team building, tour & travel, consignment tickets and all other areas of group business including birthday parties.
• Generates business from telemarketing, appointments, site visits, cold calls, tradeshows, past client database, and general inquiries via email/phone.
• Uses peak hours to “sell” and non-peak hours to do account maintenance tasks.
• Records prospect and account information by creating trace system for call backs, future meetings, follow up, etc.
• Create partnerships & represent MagiQuest to all hotels, area CVB’s, Chambers, Sales Associations, and other attractions.
• Develop tools to maximize exposure of all sales opportunities (profile sheet, sales collateral, rates, support material for fulfillment).
• Analyze trends and programs in comparable markets to ensure MagiQuest’s competitive edge (other group sales programs, promotions).
• Maintains relationships with current group accounts.
• Attends annual tradeshows including SYTA (Student Youth Travel Association) and South Eastern Homeschoolers show.
• Attends Military base trade fairs to promote MagiQuest.
• Works closely with MagiQuest personnel on event details and event execution.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
• Assist in development of property sales initiatives and promotions.
• Oversee and process all donation requests.
• Oversees the weekly group sales meeting and reviews upcoming group events.
• Organizes office group sales vision board with monthly and annual year-over-year targets.
• Submits a weekly report of group sales activity to Vice President of Operations.
• Take leadership role in ad hoc projects as designated by the Vice President of Operations.
• Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and participate in overnight travel if needed.
• Participates fully in Project Green Wolf, our company-wide environmental sustainability initiative, which includes, but is not limited to recycling, waste reduction, and energy and water conservation. |
Job Requirements

• Minimum two-year college degree and hotel, resort and/or theme park background a plus.
• Demonstrates ability to work in fast-paced, stressful environment.
• Demonstrates an above average attention to detail including excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong administrative skills including a command of all MS Office products.
• Ability to develop rapport with prospects as well as fellow team members and management. Ability to maintain strong working relationships.
• Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements:
• Lift up to 10 lbs., bending, stretching.
• Sit and/or stand for long periods of time. |
