Due to continued growth and new hotel openings we have several management opportunities waiting for you!
The Drury family has provided travelers with squeaky clean rooms, +1 service and a good value for 30 years. Family ownership makes Drury Hotels distinctly different and assures guests quality and consistency, every time they stay at our hotels.
Under general direction, conduct sales activities related to selling guest rooms and meeting facilities by following Sales the Drury Way in order to build hotel occupancy and revenue. Responsible for achieving the revenue goals set forth by the Regional Sales Manager and Vice President of Sales and Marketing. An average of 60% of time is devoted to outside sales. May travel up to 50% of time.
Completes required sales duties in designated time as outlined in Sales the Drury Way. Included but not limited to: Dialing for dollars, setting appointments, timely follow up to customers, saturating accounts, research and planning, etc.
Contacts designated accounts, approved by Regional Sales Manager to earn their rooms business for our hotels. Makes well prepared, professional presentations to clients and prospects.
Has a +1 Service Attitude and provides courteous, friendly guest service by responding promptly and efficiently to designated account inquiries, requests, and complaints.
Demonstrates initiative in finding new business and new contacts within existing accounts resulting in increased revenue. Understands rate strategies and trends for their market segment.
Consistently works with entire Drury Team (Central Groups, National Accounts, Preferred Account Coordinator, and Tour Sales) to promote chain selling.
Negotiates corporate rates for new and existing clients that qualify for BizTrip Program. Follows proper approval process.
Is aware of competition, top accounts, rates and sales strategies on an ongoing basis. Stays abreast of trends in the marketplace.
Appreciates the diversity of our team members, guests, vendors and surrounding community. Is committed to ensuring a positive and safe work environment at all times.
Conducts professional, well prepared property tours for corporate accounts by explaining Company history, assessing customer needs and demonstrating value by selling benefits.
Works with property team members to coordinate and follow up on key business leads. Utilizes networking time at breakfast and 5:30 Kickback
Participates in Sales Blitz's, Open Houses and completes follow up in a timely manner with potential corporate clients (may include traveling to other Drury properties).
Keeps up to date on information relating to sales and marketing by utilizing resources such as Internet, Hospitality Associations, business journals, tracking reports and STR (Smith Travel Research) report.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILTIY Requires knowledge of sales techniques and professional business practices. Requires ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing. Requires basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Requires effective time management and organizational skills. Requires ability to operate an automobile in the daily routine of making sales calls.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of 4 years of high school. College degree and / or college courses related to sales and marketing preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Requires minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Requires ability to safely operate an automobile intermittently, 80% of a regular day. Requires ability to complete required outside sales activities, walk and stand up to 2 hours regularly.
