The Senior Sales Manager is responsible to manage a sales territory / segment and achieve or exceed yearly room night and revenue goals by developing accounts and business opportunities.

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

* Manages a designated market territory based on annual room night and revenue target. This includes identifying potential business, negotiating room nights and rate, and closing the deal with a signed contract.
* Actively prospects and solicits new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, conducting outside sales calls, online bidding/contracting, site inspections, client entertainment, contracting, RFP responses, and written communication. Targets key relationships with customers directly and through other sources including travel industry, CVB, etc. Meets solicitation and maintenance call requirements.
* Maintains Delphi Sales Automation file database with account activity recorded to company standard.
* Works with Conference Sales Managers, other Sales Managers, and Revenue Manager to assure maximum utilization of facility.
* Prepares weekly sales reports and other departmental reports as designated as well as other correspondence. Includes correspondence to customers and internal departments, internal booking reports, sales activity recaps, pre/post trip reports, Delphi and file maintenance, contributes to hotel's marketing and sales plans and revenue forecasts.
* Participates in daily business review meeting, weekly sales meetings, dolce & function specific training, mystery shopping and other sales related meetings as required.
* Participates and professionally represents the hotel in industry related professional organizations, trade shows, community events, networking events, and sales trips.
* Develops and maintains knowledge of market trends, competition and customers. Also develops and maintains knowledge of Dolce company hotel and brand products and services, sales policies and SOPs and adheres to those policies and procedures.
* Participates in cross-property selling programs by prospecting for new business from opportunity accounts near property that have outbound potential for other Dolce Hotels and Resorts and partners and supports the overarching strategies of the Global Sales Organization.
* Promotes positive relations with guests, customers, and employees. Handles complaints by following instant pacification procedures ensuring satisfaction.
* Assists with and completes special projects and assignments as designated by the Director of Sales and Marketing/Director of Sales.
* Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Work may require evening, night, holiday, or weekend assignments on occasion.
* This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education. Bachelor Degree preferred but not required.
* This position requires a minimum of five years job-related experience, preferably in hotel sales.
* Experience with cold calling on hotel clients in the travel industry.
* Proven and creative sales prospecting skills.
* Understand the GDS, TMC and different channel distributions related to travel.
* Ability to analyze market data and translate it to a plan to target new business through Hotelligence Report, Star Report, etc.
* Sales Blitz experience and participation.
* Successful at making presentations to key decision makers.
* Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English, the primary language used in the workplace.
* Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
* Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Knowledge of all departments of hotel.
* Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints.
* Sales ability and skill in both oral and written form.
* Ability to identify and develop accounts with individual guest room needs.
* Ability to establish and master goals.
* Must possess basic computational ability.
* Computer literate. Prefer Microsoft Office proficiency. Prefer experience with Delphi, Lanyon and Opera hotel automation systems.
* Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.

* Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. While attending trade shows, must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day. This includes traveling to and from meetings and may include air travel. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
* Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
* Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
* Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Some portions of daily assignments involve ergonomic risk, such as repetitive tasks, hands exertion, vibration, cold temperatures, poor body mechanics, restrictive work stations or awkward postures.
* Some portions of the assignments require travel to other hotels, trade shows and client events via car, plane, rail, subway or other mode.
* Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
* Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
* Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
