Position Summary:

The Vice President of Consumer Insight, Analysis and Business Intelligence for La Quinta Inns and Suites manages the internal analysis team responsible for measuring performance and providing actionable insights to drive incremental revenue and profit.  This position provides analytical oversight and strategic support for the Marketing, Operations, Revenue Management and Sales departments. In addition, this VP role manages the market research function for La Quinta including both quantitative and qualitative studies. Research projects include customer segmentation, brand positioning/perception, customer satisfaction, ad copy testing, brand tracking, loyalty program design and product development, and return on investment modeling.  Interfacing with the company's senior leadership team is an important part of this role and this position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.  This individual will be a member of the internal strategic committee and is expected to regularly present findings and recommendations as well as:

oTrain, manage and develop a staff of analysts

oDevelop and manage monthly performance reporting

oInvestigate and identify company performance issues through performance and consumer analysis

oIdentify consumer insights and provide recommendations

oDevelop and manage market research projects

oManage guest satisfaction vendor (Medallia) for program enhancement and evolution.  Provide high-level strategic reporting around customer feedback

oProvide input and advice on strategic projects (e.g., media mix, channel performance, revenue growth, hotel and region performance)

oLead strategy, design and business requirements for a new reporting platform internally referenced as LQIQ which leverages Qlikview software

oAssist IT in the maintenance of current Cognos reporting environment

oCoordinate annual budget planning process for Marketing, Sales departments

oManage analytical portion of Call Center operations including performance analysis, issue investigation; budgeting/forecasting

 

Education and Experience:

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

oBachelor's degree in business, finance, statistics, or economics; MBA a plus

o7 plus years related work experience in consumer insight and business intelligence.  Ideal candidate will have some experience with new and evolving analytics in new e commerce platforms like Adobe

 

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

oLeadership - managerial and leadership skills needed for making recommendations within a department in the areas of talent development, staff selection, performance appraisal, and similar supervisory duties.  Plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of subordinates for effective operations and results of the unit.

oCollaboration - works well with others and involves leadership to identify solutions and new ideas.

oManaging Complexity - work is broad in scope covering one or more complicated areas.   A high degree of analytic ability and inductive thinking is required to devise new, non-standard approaches to highly intricate, technically complex problems.

oDecision Making - makes highly complex decisions; Independent judgment is required to recommend departmental or divisional objectives, evaluate new approaches to problem solving, and assess changing facts or conditions.

oProfessionalism - has advanced professional skills at the level of a "seasoned" professional.  Requires extensive knowledge of their discipline and a working knowledge of related fields.  Understands information in several unrelated professional disciplines.  Able to interface and influence senior management.
