The Group Coordinator will answer telephones and employ sales techniques in order to secure and process reservations for guest accommodations. To maximize hotel room rates and occupancy using effective upselling and suggestive selling methods. They will manage Group Blocks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Group Blocks.
- Assign reservations based on guest preferences and availability.
- Answer telephone and provide prompt and courteous responses to guests questions and requests.
- Promote hotel marketing programs.
- Enter all sales booking and group contracts on a timely basis.
- Communicate and verify information regarding reservations to the appropriate party.
- Answer questions regarding hotel facilities and services, airline partnerships, local attractions, directions, etc.
- Communicate applicable deposit and guarantee policies as requested.
- Handle complaints in a tactful manner and negotiate resolutions.
- Perform routine filing.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Skills and Requisites
- Good computer knowledge.
Understanding of hotel revenue management. Knowledge of hotel revenue management concepts, processes and strategies.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Service orientation. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Prior communications, reservations, hospitality, and/or computer experience preferred.
