SUMMARY:  The Gate and Towel Attendant provides supervision, security and assistance to guests on the Grand Pavilion, as well as verifying all guest's and member's access into the Grand Pavilion areas.

  

The Gate and Towel Attendant shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

 

Essential job FUNCTIONS:

* Enforces all pool rules to ensure the safety of guests and members
* Checking pool passes of resort guests and members at the access gates to the Grand Pavilion
* Maintaining the chairs and umbrellas around the Grand Pavilion pool areas
* Responsible for trash removal from bins and around your general work area
* opening and closing procedures
* Ensuring that all equipment is functioning safely
* Responsible for maintaining upkeep of the Grand Pavilion
* Responsible for towel distribution to guests, as well as removing used towels and storing those properly for laundry pick up.
* Explaining access restrictions to non-guests
* Maintaining overall integrity of private resort areas
* Must be an ambassador of their resources and committed to the cleanliness of the property
* Must insure that all details of the pool are held to 4 Diamond standards including but not limited to deck flooring, trash cans, steps, railings, lattice work, plant life, and towel shelves
* Must be able to work in a high pace environment without compromising attention to detail
* Must be able to effectively and efficiently take orders
* Must be able to interact with all hotel staff members including Housekeeping, Guest Services, Maintenance and Food & Beverage outlets to insure channels of communication are maintained
* Report all suspicious activity to Management and/or Maintenance
* Must be punctual and have excellent attendance
* Duties include: stocking pool towels, cleaning pool deck, serving customers, identifying maintenance issues, assisting guests with general questions regarding the resort and the Charleston area.

· Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.

· Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment

· Keep pool towels stocked and orderly at all times

· Helps maintain a clean and safe working environment

· Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from occupied spaces. Absolute respect for guest property should always be exercised.

· Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Wild Dunes Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest

· Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events

· Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information

· Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests

· Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude

· Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule

· Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Wild Dunes Resort dress code standards.

· Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
