Golf Club/Beach Club located on New York’s North Shore, is seeking a seasonal Sous Chef, May 1 to Oct 1. This is an excellent year over year position for the right person. Position has room for advancement. We are seeking a professional that has fine dining experience, good leadership skills, and a true passion for culinary excellence. Our state of the art new kitchen handles a high volume of la carte meals along with catered events w/seasonal cuisine and an upscale twist.

The qualified candidate will have at least 5 years culinary experience, which includes a minimum of 3 years kitchen or banquet supervisory experience.

S/he will build a culture of performance with line staff, be familiar with all cooking and prep functions, food prep, equipment and machinery, freezers, refrigerators, holding and baking ovens. The candidate will work under the Exec Chef to create menus, recipes, and presentation of dishes, maintain a high standard of personal hygiene in compliance with this Premiere Clubs’ standards, and ensure food items are prepared properly and at proper temperatures.

The successful candidate will be able to remain calm and courteous during stressful situations, remain positive when interacting with fellow employees, perform the duties of subordinates when required, and be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. The candidate will be able to communicate effectively in English, have strong organizational skills, be able to stand for the duration of the shift, work in considerable heat for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs and have basic computer skills including knowledge of Excel and Word.
