Executive Housekeeper

POSITIONS SUMMARY The Executive Housekeeper will provide the leadership expertise to ensure effective and efficient operation of the housekeeping department, including laundry, which is responsible for achieving brand standards and the cleanliness of all guest rooms, corridors, public spaces and administrative offices. The position directly involves hands-on management and ongoing training to ensure superior guest service and Guest Experience Index scores through detailed training of the staff and careful implementation of shift checklists, delivering high quality spotless facilities, consistent guest service and providing guidance and communications to all housekeeping associates.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES • Leadership Requirements: • Focus and lead housekeeping associates in line with corporate culture and business goals and initiatives. • Assess performance of the department against established measures through ongoing observation audits and reviews. Sets direction for corrective action and continuous improvement. • Meets and exceeds guest expectations by ensuring department provides outstanding service. • Managerial Requirements: • Responsible for the effective operation of all housekeeping and laundry functions and other related areas. Coordinates the department with Engineering and Front Office in order to provide seamless guest experience. • Provides ongoing shift reports, logs and checklists in order to maintain smooth operation and communication between shifts. Follows up on guest comments and concerns. • Hands on management style with a positive can-do attitude, reflecting the hotel culture. • Ensure that ongoing communication occurs with each department. Maintain effective relationships with associates and other team members. • Ensure that a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained, and internal and external customer service needs are met through avenues such as training, feedback, and positive re-enforcement programs. 3) Encourage mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all associates by helping the Hotel Management coordinate communications and activities between departments. 5) Keeps the General Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance. 6) At all times projects a favorable image of the hotel to the public. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Lift up to thirty (30) pounds, unassisted. • Stand, walk, bend, and stretch for long periods. • Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper in a full service three or four diamond hotel is required.
