The Director of Operations assists the General Manager and is responsible for the general operation of all departments in the hotel.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain physical product standards by routinely inspecting departments to ensure that equipment is in proper working condition including public areas, guest rooms, food outlets and all other areas of the hotel.
- This individual will demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees to meet and exceed hotel and guest service standards.
- Identify and effectively react to major revenue and expense opportunities and possible problems. Ensure flow through targets are met.
- Work with staff to identify customers and assess needs
- Take action and allocate resources to best meet customer needs
- Develop clear objectives for the management team that are aligned with company objectives and implement processes to monitor progress and ensure their accomplishment
- Ensure a high level of staff morale and management/staff communication through implementation of comprehensive communications plans and manager visibility.
Job Requirements
Candidates must have knowledge and/or management experience in the following areas: Front Office operations, Housekeeping, F&B, hotel accounting principles, hotel maintenance and repair. This high energy position requires constant interaction will all levels of hotel associates and our guests. Previous experience with Marriott hotels is strongly preferred.
Post high-school coursework in hotel administration/hospitality industry acquired through accredited college or business school, seminar and workshop attendance.
2-5 years previous upper level management experience at a similar size and type of hotel required.
Local Denver candidate strongly preferred.
