Local Boutique Hotel Restaurant is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to take our Restaurant to the next level.
Duties:
- Hire, train, and supervise all aspects of culinary team and kitchen staff;
- Excellent working knowledge of food cost, best practices (line checks), and purchasing;
- Maintain sanitation procedures and organization of work area adhering to all OSHA regulations;
- Meet all health department standards and regulations for safe food handling and preparation;
- Maintain and operate kitchen equipment safely as determined by position and OSHA regulations;
- Maintain food storage, receiving, rotating & stocking as par levels dictate;
Communicate clearly with Management and employees.
- Requirements:
- Ability to understand restaurant operations and requirements;
- Must have at least 2+ years in like position;
- Prefer at least three to five years of progressive experience cooking and managing a reputable dining establishment;
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively;
- Must have professional appearance;
- Self-starter who can work with little supervision;
- Must have superior understanding of OSHA , MSDS and Health Department requirements;
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Ability to walk, stand and/or bend, lift 20+ lbs and perform essential job functions;
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods;
- Culinary degree a big plus, but not necessary.
