The Spa Therapist is responsible for, but not limited to performing as trained all spa treatments to guests in a professional and pleasant fashion.
Organizational Structure
The Spa Therapist reports directly to the Treatments Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
o Support company's philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
o To perform treatments on guests whilst maintaining the guest's comfort at all times.
o Be on time for appointments and thoroughly review appointments after completing each treatment
o Keep work area clean and neat at all times.
o Must follow all Standards and Procedures as taught by trainers or Head Therapist.
o To ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Spa.
o Assist in the operations of all spa departments as required:
* Front Desk
* Spa Retail Area
* Relaxation Area
* Sluice Area
* Sales and Marketing
* Spa Suites
o Report non-functional equipment to Spa Director
o To maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the treatment rooms
o Maintain cleanliness and attention to detail in treatment room throughout shift.
o To attend daily line-ups, weekly and monthly spa meetings.
o to assist and perform various demonstrations and events.
o To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as outlined by the Spa Director.
o Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary, and must adhere to training as outlined by the Spa Director.
o Must have the ability to courteously interact with guests and answer all spa and hotel related questions.
o Perform all treatments to the highest standards.
o Assist in all areas of the spa as and when necessary, e.g. Relaxation area and Reception
o To recognize the importance of "sales" in every aspect of their role and responsible for achieving sales targets as set by the Spa Director.
o To be adaptable and accountable for all actions.
o Will perform as a professional, with a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the position, or assigned by the Spa Director.
o Maintain current professional licenses. Job Requirements:Educational Background
Must possess a good written and verbal command in the English Language and possess a Massachusetts State Massage Therapist license.
o Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
o Must be self-motivated.
o Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
o Must have mathematical skills, technical aptitude and spa operation knowledge.
o Must be a graduate from an accredited school with a massage license
o Knowledge of specific spa industry applications is desirable, such as Spa Soft.
o Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as they relate to the Spa and hotel.
o Must have knowledge of current spa trends in the industry
o Must be able to relate to all levels of management and colleagues.
o Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to network with contacts relevant to the Spa.
o Must have technical awareness and knowledge of a wide variety of treatments particularly for the face and body.
o Must have knowledge of holistic concepts that relate to the well being of all guests in a spa environment.
o Must be open to learning about treatments and concepts that derive from other cultures.
o To set a standard at all times in professionalism, appearance and attitude as expected of all spa colleagues.
o To be adaptable and accountable for all actions.
o Must understand the current legislation in regards to State and local laws for therapists.
o Consistently strive for a higher level of achievement both personally and professionally
o Must be comfortable performing treatments for at least 8 hours.
o Must have good time management skills in regards to treatments.
