POSITION PURPOSE:

Able to handle all incoming reservation calls inclusive of making and canceling reservations, responding to inquires on rates, hotel facilities, services and special promotions.

This position is a combined position wit PBX.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • Ensure that all calls are answered in a prompt and professional manner.

  • Utilizes the reservations system to record reservations and analyze data.

  • Utilizes proper selling techniques and strategies as advised by the Director of Revenue Management in order to maximize sales.

  • Ensures the accurate input of information into the reservations system including, but not limited to, rates, deposits, proper descriptions, available tables/rooms and reservation letters.

  • Prepares over the phone information and assistance in choosing reservation accommodations based on availability of dates, financial considerations and special requests.

  • The ability to maintain a positive attitude and a professional disposition especially with internal and external customers some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy

OTHER:

  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the organization. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Cipriani rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facilities. Employees who violate rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • The ability to communicate clear directions to nearby local attractions, facilities, and services.

  • Must possess strong administrative skills as well as basic computational ability. Knowledge of computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely.

  • Auditory and visual abilities to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
