Marshall Hotels & Resorts Inc. is a mid-sized, comprehensive management and consulting company with hotels located throughout the east coast, with a concentration in the Mid-Atlantic States and expanding in the South, including Puerto Rico and The Virgin Islands.

We currently seek an experienced General Manager to oversee all facets of the Fernwood Hotel & Convention Center. The Hotel consists of 135 guest rooms, 60,000 square feet of flexible display/meeting/ballroom space, indoor/outdoor pools, three food and beverage outlets and numerous of/on-site activities. This Hotel requires a hands-on professional to oversee day-to-day operations and the asset and fiscal management of the Hotel, with assistance from the management company that provides resources designed to assist in the success of the on-sight property team. The successful candidate is one that values his or her associates, realizing that it is the line managers and line staff members that create the service environment and the success levels we seek in all our hotel properties.

We look for self-starters who can take charge of their properties and who can obtain and maintain service indices that exceed their competition while achieving agreed upon financial goals.

This candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a busy, well respected, independent resort. While the successful candidate need not be certified in the accounting field, he or she will be responsible for reading and understanding the property's budget and profit and loss statements; be able to affect change in expenses to accommodate revenue variations to forecasts; oversee staffing levels and understand the impact of labor costs; and be able to assess and respond effectively to sales/marketing and revenue management strategies.

Human resource management and the creation of a "team culture" approach to the accomplishment of the property's goals is a key component to the success of this individual.
