The Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin just 90 minutes outside of Chicago and Milwaukee, is not only known of for its fine accommodations, golf courses, and 1,300 acres of picturesque grounds but it is also known for offering some of the finest and most successful food and beverage operations in the greater Chicago/Milwaukee market. The Event Manager is responsible for catered functions from origination to execution, including the delegation of responsibilities. This position will include the coordination of details for group business booked through the resort's sales department, as well as a heavy focus on up selling.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or resort, or a related field. They must also be proficient in Windows, Word, Excel. Delphi experience preferred.

Job Requirements:

* Know meeting room sets and capabilities.

* Meet and greet in-house guests upon arrival, review the course of events and introduce other staff members (banquet manager, captain, etc.).

* Develop menus and agendas, ensure BEO's are issued, and complete all pertinent correspondence with outside vendors to finalize programs.

* Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for all groups.

* Interact with outside planners and vendors for special events.

* Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.

Candidate must possess excellent communication skills, polished presentation and strong customer service orientation. Knowledge of catered food and beverage and prior event management experience is desirable.  Varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays are required.
