The Isle of Capri Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, MS (soon to be rebranded as the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino) is seeking a Director of Human Resources.
To direct, administer and develop the Human Resources Department’s activities in accordance with all fair labor practices, staffing/recruitment, risk management, worker’s compensation, employee relations, employee training and all company policies, procedures and initiatives. To provide support to the Executive Staff and General Manager with the objective of providing guidance in regards to state and federal labor laws to minimize the company’s exposure and provide a productive work environment for all employees.
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all management policies and procedures, company initiatives as directed by the General Manager.
- Assists management in the formation of equitable compensation systems for individual departments while maintaining a competitive wage structure within the industry.
- Assists Department Heads in the analysis of planning and development of their employees by providing them with the necessary tools and support for training programs, policy development and communication tools.
- Develops and implements training programs to provide growth opportunities for employees at all levels.
- Responds to all charges on behalf of the Company brought forth by EEOC, Department of Labor, etc.
- Maintains records of all employment related charges and lawsuits brought forth against the Company.
- Testifies at hearings and court proceedings regarding labor and employee relations issues, disciplinary actions and investigations.
- Works toward acquisition, retention, and development of staff at all levels.
- Keeps apprised of developments in the Human Resources field and keeps management informed of applicable changes.
- Maintains strict confidentiality relative to personal data, financial data, company policies and procedures.
- Manages and directs the work of the Human Resources and Risk Management staff.

Minimum seven (7) years experience in Human Resources with a minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience. Must have knowledge in state and federal employment laws, employee relations, compensation, training and employee programming. Ability to analyze and interpret issues, solve complex problems. Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment.
Four (4) year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
