The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of sales management experience. This person will be responsible for selling to all markets. They must be able to prospect for new clients, make cold calls, conduct site tours, write and negotiate contracts and spread the culture of JHM Hotels to the surrounding community.
The Director of Sales must assure the overall success of the hotel by meeting or exceeding the company's expectations for top line revenue. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
*Achieves budgeted goals by executing sales activities within appropriate market segment
*Assists in the development of annual sales goals
*Recommends and takes appropriate actions to achieve objectives in key result areas
*Ensures assigned area operates within cost constraints
*Meets budgeted sales and profit margin by soliciting, selling, and confirming business as required
*Develops data and recommends programs to meet clients' needs
*Prepares proposals that are geared to maximize profit while satisfying client needs
*Uses outside sales calls to solicit existing and new clients
*Conducts on-site client inspections and entertainment weekly
*Contacts in-house customers to foster additional business, repeat bookings, or referrals to other JHM Hotels
*Meets and exceeds customer expectations by ensuring department provides customer service and teamwork
*Provides staff with the skills training to provide value added service to customers
*Utilizes one-on-one training skills
*Coordinates with various departments the activities related to booked business
Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing continuous improvements of process and performance, directing and coordinating associate recruitment, promotion, discharge, transfer and training. The Director of Sales must maintain a safe working environment throughout the hotel for all associates, enforce safety guidelines and build awareness about safety. The Director of Sales also monitors associate productivity and makes improvements for increased service or productivity, supervises day to day activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specified work or functional activities, disseminates policies to subordinates, gives work directions, resolves problems, prepares schedules and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work, trains all unit staff positions and ensures that all tasks are completed.
