Saratoga Springs, NY is a vibrant, year-round resort destination known for its world-class thoroughbred racing, polo & equestrian events, strikingly beautiful Victorian architecture, an energized main street (Broadway) and downtown with a wide range of unique & eclectic shops and more than 100 restaurants, cafés, pubs & coffee shops, renowned natural springs & mineral waters, historic sites linked to the turning point of the American Revolutionary War, a diverse & active arts community, outdoor beauty and adventure (at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and just west of the Green Mountains in VT); skiing, snowboarding and river rafting & kayaking all less than an hour away.

Located in close proximity to NYC, Boston, Montreal and points throughout the Northeast, Saratoga is positioned as a very desirable wedding & social event destination.

The Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau is seeking an energetic, experienced, highly productive sales & service professional to represent this exceptional destination in developing the destination wedding & social event market for our community. The ideal candidate will be expected to hit the ground running and will have a minimum of 5 years of related hospitality sales experience, preferably with the destination wedding & social market. He or she will work closely with our lodging, attraction and facility partners to ensure seamless communication and facilitation of all lead opportunities. The right person will be goal-driven, team-oriented, organized, technologically savvy, attentive to details, innovative, creative and be a well-respected leader.

In this position, the ideal candidate will be expected to;

Facilitate destination wedding & social event leads and inquiries
Become well acquainted with and maintain close working relationships with area lodging partners, event venue facilities, attractions and other Bureau members and serve as a liaison between the client and these facilities
Coordinate and conduct site tours for wedding & event planners/clients showcasing facilities & attractions of the area
Assist in developing marketing strategies as part of the annual marketing plan and strategic planning process
Attend industry trade shows (regional & national), coordinate sales missions, attend networking events & local industry events to solicit business
Maintain excellent product knowledge of destination attributes and assets; lodging, facilities, attractions, off-site venues, service providers, logistics into our area, etc…
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Have proven organizational skills, demonstrate sound professional judgment, discretion and integrity.
Have a minimum of 5 years of hospitality industry experience, preferably in the destination wedding & social event market. Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
Must have a passion for weddings, be creative and detail oriented
Have the availability and willingness to work the time required to get the job done, including nights and weekends when required. Some overnight travel is also required.
Be adept with Microsoft office suite as well as industry CRM systems
