Job Description: This position provides support to the General Manager in providing continuous leadership and guidance in matters relating to the financial operation of the hotel by assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, overseeing daily operation of Accounting Department activities and internal control procedures designed to safeguard owners/investors assets, ensures compliance with all Federal, State, Local regulations. Additional responsibilities include staffing, training, scheduling of employees; planning organizing, directing and coordinating department activities to ensure efficient operation Oversees the accounting department activities to ensure optimal efficiency and performance of department Represents the Controller in his/her absence Assists in the preparation of all financial reports, ledger reviews and forecasts according to the established schedule Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements Oversees accounts receivable and payable activities to ensure accurate recording of information according to generally accepted accounting principles and established guidelines Compiles financial data related to operations, investigates and critiques variances from expectations to determine cause, and report findings to GM Oversees /audits internal financial controls to include purchasing, cash handling, receipts, disbursements, expendable/fixed asset inventories, payroll and employee records Assists in the coordination of the annual internal and external audit processes Assists GM in performing General Ledger review

Qualifications: Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or equivalent Three to five years management experience in Hospitality Accounting operations Extensive knowledge of computer based front and back of house Accounting Management Systems Prolific in Windows, Lotus/Excel and MS-Office software operating systems and applications Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spread sheets and complex technical information Prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines Effective management, leadership, organizational and communications skills Proficient in operation of basic office equipment Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
