Reports To: Director of Sales and Marketing.

Purpose: Coordination of primarily conventional groups with an overlap in social and wedding events as well. Will solicit, negotiate, and book new group, social and catering only inquiries.

Job Functions

Practice, maintain and promote AAA 3 ¯ and Sheraton standards, our Brand Core Values and Human Truths.

Practice Starwood Service Standards and Meeting procedures.

Organized, team oriented and proficient in multi-tasking.

Finalize agendas for groups and utilize meeting space to its fullest potential.

Finalize meeting room setup with all audio visual and special requirements.

Finalize all menus, including specialized menus, with the approval of the Executive Chef.

Perform outside sales and telemarketing calls to solicit catering events.

Conduct site inspections pertinent to the business at hand.

Participate in appropriate pre-event and post-event meetings.

Insures proper coverage of every coordinated event, generally present at them.

Utilizes DELPHI for the creation of all necessary documentation for all events.

Participates in professional organizations to promote the resort.

To complete any reasonable request by management, guest or vendor in order to satisfy the needs of the customer and overall success of the resort.

Partner with the Food and Beverage Team to ensure a smooth transition from sales to service of events

Perform special projects, tasks, or other responsibilities as necessary.

Experience

Requires a minimum of 2 years previous management experience in social catering sales and coordination; and a high proficiency in Delphi and computer skills with windows-based systems. Excellent writing and verbal skills

        

 

 

Requires thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the catering food and beverage operations of the hospitality industry.

 Requires basic knowledge of working in a resort to comply with policies and procedures, and the ability to determine a course of action based on these guidelines.

  Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information involving readily available data and generating logical conclusions and information.

  Possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professional planners or potential hotel guests.

  Ability to drive to outside sales/coordinating calls.

Physical Requirements

Able to stand and walk continuously at times while touring property.

 Able to work both inside and outside for certain groups.
