Position Purpose: To direct all security functions in the hotel ensuring a safe and secure environment for our guest and our associates, and protect the assets of the owners.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure all security policies and procedures are followed. Promote safe work practices. (I.e. fire drills, incident report writing, etc).
  • Report all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
  • Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates (i.e. losses, thefts, accidents, acts of violence). Document details and advise Executive Committee. Contact Executive Committee member when any external emergency services are called.
  • Maintains surveillance activities.
  • Maintains an effective key control program.
  • Brief on-coming MOD on all security issues prior to leaving property.
  • Maintain high visibility in the lobby and other public areas, especially during high occupancy levels.
  • Respond to all fire and medical emergencies when on duty or when called by Executive Committee members.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and preventive measures.
  • Assist as needed with complaints and guest issues.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Insure guests and employees receive proper security escorts, as required.
  • Oversee and maintain various technical equipment, hardware and software, to ensure it is

functioning properly.

  • Obtain CPR certification.
