At Donovan House, our ideal downtown location puts Washington, DC at your feet. Whatever brings you to DC will take you just moments to reach. It's a quick walk to the Convention Center, the lobbyists on K Street, the White House, Washington Monument, and 14th Street Corridor - you know, everything that's anywhere. Or when the weather's good and warm, our roottop pool and lounge will make a big splash. Speaking of which, you do have Zentan, and its celebrity chef Susur Lee, on your radar, don't you? His inventive pan-Asian delights are right downstairs.

The Concierge will provide hotel and restaurant guests with information, reservations, directions  and respond to guest(s)' questions as needed, will provide support and care in a professional, heartfelt and gracious manner, and will perform Front Office Agent duties as may be needed. Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently greet guests upon arrival to the Hotel or Restaurant.

Establish call back program to contact guests who have arrived to ensure their comfort and to offer assistance.

Possess fluent knowledge of the Washington DC metro area including but not limited to local attractions, events, museums, entertainment, and best navigation to arriving at these destinations.

Consistently provide our restaurant, Zentan, as an option to hotel guests or cross-sell other Kimpton restaurants as alternatives.

Review VIP and package arrivals daily.

Personally develop relationships with well-established, local services: such as florists, hair salons, shopping venues, etc.

Make reservations for guests in all facets of the hospitality industry: restaurants, airlines, car rentals, entertainment, movies, shows/plays, etc.   Printing hotel guest board passes as needed.

Maintain follow-up / turnover log for communication between Front Office staff and other departments.

Adapt to constantly changing situations and personalities of guests, ensuring quality care and comfort to all guests. Maintain decorum in stressful situations. Project warmth, genuine care and concern for all guests along with proper etiquette.
