Job Description

PRINICIPLE DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that Housekeeping maintains cleanliness standards of Millennium Broadway, that rooms are turned over to the Front Desk in a timely manner, that work rules and Union guidelines are adhered to, that guest room issues are promptly responded to, that the work environment for all employees is positive and supportive, and that employees have the necessary supplies for job performance.
  • Ensure that the Concierge desk operates smoothly, that Concierges have necessary information about neighborhood events, as well as events within the property, that Concierges have received necessary training to provide our guests with consistent service.
  • Work with the Front Office Team to ensure that the hotel standards are practiced at the Front Desk, Concierge, Front Services, Telecommunications and Premier Tower; that all guests have a high quality experience and receive excellent service as defined in the Hotel Key Service Standards.
  • Manage Rooms P& L to ensure that the division is staying within established guidelines for expenses and payroll costs, ensure that all Department Heads understand the importance of fiscal responsibility within each of their departments.  Communicate budget issues to Department Heads to enable them to accurately and responsibly control expenditures.
  • Coordinate with the other departments and managers in all issues that affect the smooth operation of the day-to-day activities of the Hotel. Facilitate communications between departments to ensure that the property is running smoothly, priorities are established and adhered to, and that departments follow up with each other to maintain property standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining employee relations, including regular department head meetings to ensure optimum teamwork and productivity.
  • Ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction including resolving guests' problems.
  • Manages and motivates all Rooms Division managers with daily supervision to include staffing training, disciplines, scheduling, visual monitoring, performance and adherence to all service and productivity standards to provide exceptional guest experience.
  • Participates in yield management strategies in order to maximize overall revenues.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Sales and Marketing the reservations interface with the Front Office to ensure proper supply of inventories, forecasting and scheduling to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in the development of new programs, which result in an increase level of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATIONAL - Bachelor's Degree preferred; however, any combination of education and training within the hotel industry may also be considered.
  • EXPERIENCE - Minimum of 5 years previous management experience required, specifically in the Rooms Division. Must have prior union experience.
  • SKILLS - Strong communication skills, self-motivator, organization and attention to detail, leadership, ability to motivate and manage people.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Requires observation of the hotel operations 24/7, including weekends which includes frequent physical, personal inspections of the entire Hotel and staff.
  • ANALYTICAL DEMANDS:  Ability to budget and forecast, analyze P&L statements, Organize and coordinate the various departments of the Hotel
  • Personal computer knowledge desirable (Delphi, Opera, Microsoft Office).
