The ideal candidate has 2+ years of hotel experience, stellar contract negotiation skills, and is familiar with local military bases and community. In this key role, you will solicit group business with a focus on Government and Military markets and National Association markets. You MUST have hotel sales and military experience for consideration. Please do not apply if you do not have experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To solicit group business with primary focus on the Government and Military markets and National Association markets.
- Must have knowledge of local military bases and community.
- Conduct outside sales calls, cold calls, telephone, site visits, and outside sales appointments to meet/exceed requirements.
- Review market analysis to determine strategy on volume potentials, discount times, and revenue maximization.
- Keep current and up to date sales files for specific markets.
- Organize, maintain, and track sales data.
- Develop management reports.
- Analyze Revenue Management strategy utilizing tools like Star report analysis and front office systems.
- Provide distinctly supreme service to sales guest and clients.
- Relate guest feedback.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with other departments, employees, and guests.
- Establish and maintain contact with top accounts and target accounts through tours, appointments, correspondence, entertainment, etc. to determine current and future needs.
- Network with prospect and other decision makers within accounts.
- Prospect utilizing internet, cold and warm lead calling, and various methods.
- Look for ways to develop and increase your prospecting skills and develop revenue opportunities.
- Ensure prompt and courteous service to sales guests to ensure guest experience is distinct and supreme.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MUST have 2+ years of hotel sales experience with extensive knowledge of negotiations and hotel industry sales procedures.
- Must have knowledge of local military bases and community.
- Excellent presentation skills with strong contract negotiation and interpretation skills.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, results oriented sales professional with demonstrated sales success, effective ability to aggressively up sell and close sales, and to meet deadlines, goals, and productivity standards.
- Exceptional prospecting skills: internet prospecting, cold and warm lead calling, etc. with strong closing skills.
- Great time management skills and able to manage multiple projects, work effectively under time and resource constraints, and meet deadlines.
- Meet/exceed booking goals while maintaining average rate.
- Detail-oriented, organized with timely follow up, and great documentation skills.
- Solid business communication skills.
- Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Able to write and develop sales and marketing communications that properly reflect the hotel’s image.
- Follow policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve standards and operations in a continuous improvement approach.
- Skilled at managing extensive amounts of information in fast paced environment.
- Superb phone etiquette with ability to talk for extended periods with guests, management, staff, employees, and general community.
- Solid software skills and ability to use Delphi system.
- Available to travel for trade shows, events, etc. throughout the year.
