Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club is seeking a Catering and Events Sales Manager. The clubhouse offers food service amenities including a fine dining restaurant and a casual restaurant. In addition a cafe restaurant at our spa. Ballroom seating up to 200 guest for a wedding with a beautiful outside garden for the ceremony. This is a private club that has a beautiful 18 hole Ron Garl designed course, with a spa and tennis courts.
The Catering & Events Sales Manager is responsible for the day-to-day catering services. Develop event contracts (BEO'S) for and oversee all administrative and operational aspects of preparing and selling events and catered parties. Work with banquet and other departments to assure that the member's and guests' expectations are exceeded and the highest quality food and service are delivered.
This position will assist members in arrangements for special dinner requests in one of our dining rooms. Helps members arrange banquets, luncheons, meetings, weddings,charity events and other social events. Obtains the pertinent information needed for the planning of such events. Works with the Executive Chef to determine selling prices, menus and other details for catered events, assists in keeping up with the current menu offerings for banquets. Communicates necessary information to and coordinates event planning with banquets, F&B Manager, and housekeeping staff. Arranges for printing of menus, procuring decorations, entertainment and other special requests. Enters pertinent information regarding the event in the BEO system (JONAS) which is used for communication to all. Inspects finished arrangements,be present to oversee the actual event and serving of guests. Checks function sheets against actual room setup,orchestrates events when necessary. Manages complaints, maintains past and potential client files, schedules calls or visits to assess ongoing needs of prospective clients for catering services. Develops catering budgets, reviews financial reports and takes corrective action as appropriate to help assure that budget goals are met. Assumes responsibility of manager on duty when necessary. Ensures that proper housekeeping and energy conservation procedures are always followed. Diagrams room layout, banquet placement and related function details.
Manages banquet billing and arranges prompt payment for all events.Updates weekly function information for all affected staff. Maintains club's master calendar and function book. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a Hands On teammate. Candidate must be self-motivated, highly organized and a team player.
The successful candidate will set a high standard of professionalism while empowering others to be successful and supportive of the overall operation. The ideal candidate will have a catering background with a passion for sales and service. The primary goal of exceeding member and guest expectations. They will also be able to properly prioritize the high level of membership requests and needs in a professional manner at all times. The ideal candidate will possess these experiences, a hospitality degree and 2-3 years experience.
