Prospera Hospitality is currently seeking a dynamic, experienced and motivated individual for our exciting new hotel opening this summer in downtown Charlotte.

The position requires a high level of professionalism, excellent organization, communication skills, strong leadership capabilities and detail orientation. To be successful candidate must possess excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.  Knowledge of key BT accounts and contacts in the Charlotte market is preferred.

This property will be a brand new Hyatt Place hotel, with 172 rooms and suites.   The hotel is well suited for the downtown Charlotte oriented business traveler as well as weekend groups.

Job Responsibilities of Director of Sales include but are not limited to:

  • Work with RDOS & M to complete all pre-opening sales and marketing activities
  • Set marketing position of hotel to achieve maximum room sales pre- and post opening
  • Responsible for maximizing all room sales and revenue centers within the hotel
  • Oversee group sales effort to achieve budgeted room night/revenue goals for current and future years
  • Develop sales strategies for specific group market segments
  • Develop departmental budget to support group sales activities
  • Study the competition to help maintain competitiveness
  • Direct and expand the business transient sales effort
  • Develop a sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future resort/market trends and creating selling strategies to capture the maximum amount of revenue and meet/exceed sales goals.
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, association, SMERF or business and travel industry accounts to maintain and increase The Ellis Hotel’s market share.
  • Maintain accurate accounts and sales records and files to provide group history, ensure future and current quality service and enhance future prospects.

Job Requirements/qualifications:

1.            Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts (outside sales calls, e-mails, telemarketing, mailings, referrals, networking, etc.) to maximize room revenue to meet/exceed goals.

2.            Notify/coordinate customer specifications with other departments and quickly, efficiently respond to customer issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.

3.            Develop a marketing strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market trends and creating selling strategies to capture large/complex accounts while maximizing revenue and meeting/exceeding sales goals.

4.            Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business and travel industry accounts to maintain and increase our market share.

5.            Maintain accurate accounts and sales records and files to provide group history, ensure future and current quality service and enhance future prospects.

6.            Complete necessary sales training.

7.            Participate in trade shows and community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals.

8.            Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned and participate in task forces and committees as requested.
