DIRECTOR OF SALES
Location: Turks and Caicos Islands - Providenciales
In this key role, you are responsible for developing, growing, and managing the resort sales. you will be responsible for the overall sales function for all aspects of the resort operation and lead the development and execution of Sales Plans and initiatives that maximize profitability for the resort. Create awareness and promote resort services and amenities through advertising, direct mail, E-mail campaigns, collateral, online sales, customer relationship sales etc. Positions and enhances the resort image in the local community as well as nationally and internationally. Responsible for the effective communication of all sales initiatives to all departments.
Responsibilities
- Direct and assist the resort in the development, implementation and achievement of their annual business and sales plan objectives.
- Provide leadership, guidance and assistance relating to the execution of sales functions, policies and standards as established by the resort.
- Capitalize on the resort sales programs and resources.
- Direct coordination of cross-selling, joint sales initiatives and other resort/brand synergies to maximize exposure and profitability including agency contact, media planning and resort communications.
- Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry locally, nationally and internationally to detect market trends and related information for development of new sales strategies.
- Act as resource for advertising and production costs for all departments in resort and acts as the main contact person for the resort advertising agency.
- Keep current on all online sales opportunities.
- Implement electronic Sales Programs in order to target new and existing guests in an economical and effective manner.
- Ensure that the most up-to-date, accurate and comprehensive information appears on the property/corporate website for Leisure, Travel Agent, Meeting Planner, Member use etc.
- Provide the Sales Team and all other Departments (e.g. Spa, dining outlets, membership etc.) with all necessary support as it relates to electronic, interactive sales mediums, presentation tools and collateral requirements.
- Ensure that the property appears on all booking channels (compatible internet sites, third party sites, Government Services, wholesalers) with accurate information, availability and special offers.
- Develops and implement a Customer Relationship Sales plan - set up processes and standard operating procedures to collect and manage guest history
- Effectively develop and manage relationships with key accounts.
- Maintain professionalism and respond/resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.
- Participate as an active member in resort related social and community related activities.
- Provide all Sales Related Reports including preparation of annual Sales Plan and Budget presentations and monthly owners reports.
Requirements:
- 5 - 10 years Sales experience in Condo resort/hotel sales, preferably in full-service property with meeting space.
- College degree in sales, hospitality management, or business would be a plus.
- Caribbean Resort with multiple units
- Familiarity with Caribbean Sales would be an asset
- Flexible Schedule: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort. In addition, attendance at all scheduled Sales meetings is required.
Skills and Abilities
- Highly motivated, self-directed sales management professional with results-oriented drive, sense of urgency, and proven abilities to close deals and sell.
- Must have demonstrated results in leading sales team, improving market share, and developing sales staff.
- Knowledgeable on room merchandising, hotel revenues, etc. and able to evaluate and revise programs.
- Professional attitude, quality work products, and team-building spirit to inspire team.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Must have a thorough knowledge of English language to communicate with customers, associates, and vendors.
- Attention to details, very organized, and timely completion of projects.
- Strong skills in MS Word, sales and accounting applications.
- Fully knowledgeable on all areas of hotel and departments’ interdependencies and limitations that could impact sales strategies.
- Proven success in maintaining and building relationships with existing accounts while aggressively developing new business.
- Represent the hotel in a professional manner internationally , with community, vendors, customers, and staff.
- Available to travel and work weekend/evening as needed.
- Excellent knowledge of the local market with existing contacts and networking relationships.
