Under the Chief Engineer, responsible for minor repairs to general plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Responsible to respond to guest calls and to cover all shifts. Responsible for minor repairs to furniture and be able to perform limited painting. Responsible for familiarity with fire alarms systems, sprinkler and domestic water shut off valves.
JOB TASKS:
* Performs work requests as assigned
* Performs room preventative maintenance as directed
* Repairs furniture
* Maintain engineering spaces and workspaces in a clean, orderly and safe condition
* Document all work performed, material/parts needed and/or used for any work performed, including time worked on each project
* Comply with departmental and hotel SOP
* Appropriate knowledge in structural, floor and wall coverings, and furniture repair, pertaining to the hotel and guest rooms.
* Perform work on guest room televisions to determine whether functioning properly, along with repairs on the cable television system, including spectravision and the television head end equipment
* Be able to effectively repair any equipment found in a guest room (for example: toilet, faucets, towel racks, room air conditioning, telephone, shower diverter, smoke detector, etc.)
* Be able to make minor repairs to electrical, mechanical, HVAC, kitchen, plumbing, television, telephone, fire alarm systems
* Be able to perform one or more of the following: general plumbing, electrical
* Be able to do minor cutting and threading of pipe
* Be able to do minor soldering/bracing
* Be able to perform minor electrical repairs (with the power off)
* Be able to perform and respond to all guest room calls
* Be able to cover guest calls on any shift
* Be knowledgeable in the location of all sprinkler shut-off valves
* Be knowledgeable in fire alarm procedures
* Be able to cover guest calls and/or shift coverage and all requirements with respect to an Engineer 1.
* Be able to perform minor repairs to miscellaneous hotel equipment (both electrical and mechanical)Performs work requests as assigned
