Job Description

Located at the gateway to Chicago's famed Magnificent Mile, the historic Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel is a full service, luxury hotel with 306 guests rooms and 18,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space.

We are seeking a dynamic, energetic, customer service oriented individual to join our team and help lead the overall sales effort of the hotel.

The Assistant Director of Sales assists the Director of Sale in the management, coordination, and execution of items related to the marketing and sales operation of the hotel. 

This position will be responsible for the management and solicitation of a designated market.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department such as the monthly forecast, Star reports, Marketing budget and Sales Meeting minutes.

Administer the staffing, training and performance reviews for the Sales Department.  Ensure training programs are conducted regularly.  Give guidance and counsel staff toward meeting goals and standards.

Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.

Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.

 

 

 

Job Requirements

Requires a minimum of four years sales experience and two years of supervisory experience.  Must have prior downtown hotel experience.

*Extensive skill in development and delivery of sales presentations

*Ability to access, understand and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system

*Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced work environment

*Ability to take initiative, to succeed under pressure and to meet deadlines

*Detailed oriented

*Possess high degree of drive and determination

*Possess strong interpersonal skills
