Sales Manager

Due to growth of portfolio, Shaner Hotels, a leading owner / operator of hospitality properties, has an immediate need for an experienced hospitality sales manager to join our team. This position will initially provide short-term support to our Courtyard by Marriott in St. Augustine, and will transition into becoming a key player in our sales efforts for new properties across the state of Florida. Travel and relocation may be required.

The Sales Manager is responsible for the development, solicitation and maintenance of accounts to meet or exceed budgeted revenue goals. This position reports to the Regional Director of Sales.

The ideal candidate will have:

• HS / GED, BA/BS preferred
• 3+ years of sales experience in the hospitality industry
• Ability to prospect and solicit new accounts through telephone, direct mail and outside sales calls
• Ability to maintain and develop current client base through scheduled telephone calls, sales calls and follow up correspondence;
• Experience with Sales Pro preferred
• Ability to respond to customer inquiries and develops proposals and contracts.

Markets will include SMERF, Government and Corporate, as well as off-site sales.

The Sales Manager must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and strong presentation skills; Must be capable of making outside sales calls to generate catering business. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations and basic computer skills are required.
