Banquet Manager

In this key role, you will monitor, support, and guide the daily operations of the Banquet Department to ensure successful and effective operations resulting in positive guest experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and monitor all orders and communications on Banquet events and affiliated activities.  Make adjustments to staffing levels, assignments, décor, setups, etc.  Communicate with all involved parties.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure convention specifications are communicated and executed for successful meeting experience.
• Ensure appropriate and timely setup of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food, beverage, and meeting specifications.
• Communicate all daily activities (in person, by log, etc.) to the other banquet personnel to ensure smooth transition and follow up from one function to another.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Utilize a continuous improvement approach to ensure a high quality, cost effective, and customer focused operations. 
• Develop and implement a training plan to ensure a high quality presentation and level of customer service within the banquet service/function service staffs.
• In conjunction with the Director of Food and Beverage, manage the inventory, control, breakage, and loss reduction of china, glass, and silver for banquet services.
• Create a positive work environment, monitor job performance, and provide daily support and guidance to fellow banquet personnel to ensure successful guest experience.
• Maintain a high level of service by constantly training and coaching your team.
• Inspect and oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all function space, public areas, and service areas on all banquet levels. Coordinate with Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure the highest level of product delivery.
• Responsible for monthly scheduling and payroll for the Banquet Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of banquet experience in full-service upscale hotel with more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
• 2+ years of Banquet Manager experience supervising and managing both Banquet Captain(s) and Assistant Banquet Manager.
• Prefer Bachelors degree.
• MUST be a self-starter who takes pride in exceeding customer expectations. 
• Able to take direction from clients and management and Run with it.
• Serv Safe Certified & Salt Lake County Food Handlers License.
• Trend setter able to train and motivate your team to cutting edge service standards and presentations.  Successfully inspiring your team to new levels.
• Demonstrated ability to schedule and manage staff and meet event requirements.
• Effective manager who can proactively work across departments.
